Fiona was clear, precise and thorough from our first meeting with her all the way through to our post operation appointment. We found her to be extremely professional in all aspects of her work and was more than willing to listen to concerns and answer questions which greatly enhanced our understanding and calmed our nerves. I would like to pass on my thanks and gratitude for all that she has done for my wife and I during what has been an extremely emotional and troubling time for us.

Dr Tsang-Wright was very professional and caring. She took great care in explaining what was wrong and how she was going to surgically remove the affected breast tissue. CANCER is a frightening word but Dr Tsang-Wright did make it easier by listening and answering our(husband present) questions with calmness and at a level that clarify things in our mind with the different options and outcome, positive and negative. The operation went as planned and I was glad to hear that all the affected tissue had been removed successfully and now I can look forward to the next stage of my treatment. We thank her and the Breast Care team for their outstanding work done to help patients like me.

The breast unit was really well run and the whole process efficient. All the staff were welcoming, explained what they were doing and their decisions and did not seem in a great rush like many NHS medics.

Miss Tsang Wright is my breast surgeon and recently removed an encysted carcinoma. She made me feel very special before, during and after surgery. She carefully explained all posibilities and outcomes both positive and those that might be more worrying. Where she could be reassuring she was and this was especially appreciated (as this was the right approach for me as a practitioner psychologist ). To have denied that reassurance would have caused unnecessary anxiety whilst awaiting results over time. I travel for 5-6 hrs for appointnents and do not want to move appointments or surgery nearer to home. The relationship is too important.

Profile

Fiona is a Consultant Breast and Reconstructive surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as well as in senior management as the Trust Cancer Clinical Lead. She is a committee member for the Association of Breast Surgery.

She has an expertise in managing breast diseases and breast cancer. All her clinics are set up with the best patient experience in mind: she will examine the patient and then arrange for imaging to be done at the same appointment (One-Stop Clinic) as she believes that this enables her to reassure her patients as quickly as possible, and reduce the anxiety of waiting for tests. Her feedback is positive and she is proud that she can make the experience of attending her clinic as pleasant and straight-forward as possible.

Fiona is involved in all aspects of a patient's treatment, and particularly in the management of breast cancer in younger women. She uses refined oncoplastic techniques to give women the increased possibility of conserving their natural breast or for those needing a mastectomy, she is an expert in immediate breast reconstructions using an implant to create a natural breast shape. She also liaises closely with consultant plastic surgeons for autologous reconstructions such as DIEP / LD.

Fiona has worked in different healthcare systems around the world and uses the experience gained in Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai for the management of her patients in the UK. She has a demonstrable record in medical management at national, regional and local levels.

Fiona is dedicated to medical education and mentorship. She sits on the Oxford Regional Higher Surgery Training panel, is a final year examiner at the University of Oxford, an Associate Professor at the St George's University in Grenada, and teaches students from Oxford University and the University of Buckingham.
